20th Annual Webster Holiday House Tour Set for Sunday

The event features a tour of six historic Webster Groves' homes decorated for the holidays and a holiday reception and shopping boutique.

Mark your calendars! The 20th Annual Webster Holiday House Tour and Shopping Boutique is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4. from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event, which is sponsored by the Hixson Middle School PTO, will feature six historic Webster Groves' homes beautifully decorated for the holidays. It will also include a reception and holiday shopping boutique at Hixon Middle School with 15 to 20 vendors. Be sure to stop by the Webster Groves Patch booth for free goodies.

"It's a fun afternoon," said Tracy Dunlap, PTO co-president. "With each ticket, you receive a brochure of where the homes are located, and you can visit a couple or all six at your leisure. It gives you a really good chance to see the architecture and design of the homes, and it's cool to see how other people decorate."

Choirs and bands from Webster Groves High School and other local artists will perform at each home and at the boutique throughout the day. In addition to shopping, boutique guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments, including a special Christmas Tea. There will also be raffles with prizes including a Webster Groves' shopping spree valued between $500 and $700.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door, and proceeds from the event will go toward the PTO's mini-grant program. Hixson teachers may apply for the grants to enhance instruction in the classrooms.

"It's the biggest fundraiser Hixson does for the year," Dunlap said. "Last year, we sold 750 tickets."

Tickets can be purchased at Hixson Middle School, Embroider the Occasion, Mac Do It Best Hardware, Rolling Ridge Nursery, Freddie’s Market, Straub’s and Garland Wines

The tour includes the Hawken House at 1155 S. Rock Hill Rd., 55 Mason Ave., 221 E. Lockwood Ave., 303 W. Jackson Rd., 45 Oak Terrace and 235 Hawthorne Ave.

Each day this week, Webster Groves Patch will post a description and photo of each home featured in the tour. Look for a write up on the Hawken House later this afternoon!
