Broken Water Main To Be Replaced in 2013

The water main that broke yesterday on Watson Road between South Elm Ave. and Grant Road was installed in 1961.

The water main that burst yesterday morning causing closures on Watson Road is scheduled to be replaced next year.

The 16-inch water main was installed in 1961, according to Missouri American Water, who repaired yesterday’s break on Watson Road between South Elm Ave. and Grant Road.

The break caused two eastbound lanes of traffic on Watson Road to close and water in the area to be shut off. The water was restored by 2 p.m., and the traffic lanes were opened by rush hour.
