Dr. Jazz Closes Down in Webster Groves -- But Only Temporarily
The soda fountain favorite is up for lease, but as is.
Dr. Jazz Soda Fountain and Grille at 29 North Gore in Webster Groves is currently up for lease.
The area stop still has all its furnishings, standing as is waiting for new operators. "Dr. and Mrs. Dr. Jazz" posted the following note on the restaurant door:
"To our valued friends:
We have decided to temporarily close the restaurant while we arrange for new operators to take over. Merrille has accepted a new position with a great company. It was too good to pass up. She and George decided to retire from the restaurant but will be around when it reopens. Please be assured we are working behind the scenes to reopen quickly. We are so thankful for our many loyal and wonderful customers. You made it a wonderful time for all of us these last 4 years!
Thank you! Stay tuned!!!
Dr. and Mrs. Dr. Jazz"
Warner Properties is leasing the location for $3,250/month.

Sad to hear this. I knew they were looking for new owners, but I was hoping they would find some before it came to this.
Hopefully someone can take the reins and help such a cool place flourish in Old Webster.
