'Dynamic' Display Signs Draw Fire in Rock Hill
A bill to allow for the high-tech signage will be reexamined in 2013 after the planning and zoning chairman spoke out against the measure.
Earlier this month, the Rock Hill Planning and Zoning Commission decided to postpone action on a bill that would allow for electronic signs that change messages automatically, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The type of signage, known as dynamic electronic signs, drew fire from David Lancaster, the commission chairman, who said at the commission's Dec. 4 meeting that the signs would add more "visual clutter to Manchester Road" and posed a distraction for drivers, according to the Post.
The commission will reexamine the bill in 2013.
