Former Webster Groves Resident Phyllis Diller Celebrates the Big 95

The actress and comedian moved to Webster Groves in 1961.

Happy birthday to Phyllis Diller, a former Webster Groves resident who moved to the city in 1961 at 30 Mason Avenue in Webster Groves.

Diller, known for her wild costumes, untamed hair and unusual laugh, turned 95 on Tuesday, July 17. Thanks to Linda Gurney for alerting us of the milestone on the Webster Groves Patch Facebook page

Jerri Stroud, commented on our Facebook page, "I remember her pink house from my childhood!"

According to Gaslight Square's Facebook page, Diller began her career at the Crystal Palace in Gaslight Square during the early 1960s.

Diller has a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame in the Delmar Loop, which is located at 6366 Delmar.
