FOX 2 Video: Update on Wednesday Morning Manhunt in Webster

A Webster Groves High School football player alerted police to the whereabouts of the man police were searching for, Fox 2 reports.

 

A Webster Groves High School football player located a man police had been looking for after the suspect fled police after an arrest attempt, Fox 2 reports.

Sophomore Anthony Rivituso told the Fox 2 he noticed the man as he and a group of frends were walking through the Goodall Manor Condominiums on their way to practice. Rivituso ran away and immediately alerted police in the area.

The search began around 10 a.m. when police attempted an arrest at a home in the 700 block of Selma Ave. at the request of the St. Louis County Police Department, according to a Webster Groves police news release. The subject was wanted on a felony probation violation warrant for a previous drug offense. 

Police searched for the man on foot and by air for about 90 minutes. Police took the the man into custody without incident in the 500 block of Colebrook, which is near the Webster Groves Recreation Complex.
