Garden Ave Construction To Be Completed By Next Week

Construction crews will be working around the clock paving the area

As Webster University students head home for Thanksgiving, workers will increase their paving effort on Garden Avenue.

The street renovation project will likely be completed Wednesday, said Mitch Wagner, project manager for Webster Groves’ public works department.

Wagner said traffic will be slowed down on that area.

The project is part of a joint beautification effort between Webster University and Webster Groves. The project will ease traffic on Garden Avenue, which connects Webster University, Nerinx Hall and the Old Orchard business district.

The cost of the project is $237,000, with the university paying $177,000 of the total and the city paying $60,000 for lighting and tree removal.

The city awarded the project to Ellisville-based Krupp Construction.
