Grand Opening of TITLE Boxing Club in Rock Hill Set for May 3

The club's Power Hour class burns 1,000 calories in one hour.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 3 will kick off the grand opening of TITLE Boxing Club at 9494 Manchester Rd. in Rock Hill. It's at the intersection of Manchester and N. Rock Hill roads.

The core of the new national franchise is its Power Hour class. Developed by professional boxers, the class can help members burn up to 1,000 calories in just one hour. It is guaranteed to help women and men of all ages and physical fitness levels look and feel great.

“TITLE Boxing Club is not your typical gym,” said Heath Norton, franchise owner and general manager of TITLE Boxing Club in Rock Hill in a news release. “We take the intensity of traditional boxing and kickboxing and transform it into a program that everyone can enjoy, from beginners to professionals, while still generating real results. Because of the type of movement, workouts are oftentimes easier on your joints compared to running and many other cardio exercises.”

The newly-renovated facility features a heavy bag station that is equipped with 60 bags for group Power Hour boxing and kickboxing classes, which combines the heavy bags with plyometrics and full-body cardio exercises. Certified trainers leading the classes demonstrate proper technique to ensure a safe, effective workout. In addition to being TITLE Boxing certified, each trainer has a background in the fighting arts such as MMA, boxing or kickboxing.

Members have unlimited access to Power Hour classes, treadmills and free weights. Personal training sessions are available at an additional cost. All classes require hand wraps and gloves, which can be purchased or loaned in the club’s retail shop.

The first class is always free for anyone interested in joining, and now through the end of May there is no enrollment fee. Individual, family and corporate memberships are available for one-year agreements.

“When I decided to open a TITLE Boxing Club franchise, I envisioned being in a convenient location that was inviting for people who wanted to achieve better fitness and healthy living goals,” Norton said. “This club in Rock Hill is the perfect mix.”

Blanton Construction with Midwestern Design and Construction managed the exterior and interior renovation of the 6,200 square-foot building that formerly housed Hollywood Video.

TITLE Boxing Club in Rock Hill is the first of two franchise locations in the St. Louis area owned by Norton. The second is expected to open in 2013.

Club hours are 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday hours are to be determined. I went to Title expecting a complicated workout that would be laughable for a 40- something, hobby cyclists to do; and was pleasntly surprised. Heath's class was awesome. I left The Power Hour feeling accomplished, challenged -yet not demoralize - and wanting more! It's worth an hour. The facility is clean; the concept is fresh; the class was comfortable and uncomplicated. Each instructors' Hour is unique. I enjoyed it.
