Have Ice Cream for Breakfast Saturday at Serendipity
The Webster Groves creamery opens at 8 a.m. on Feb. 4 to celebrate National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day.
Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream is celebrating National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day with a pajama party, contests, prizes and of course, ice cream. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Owner Beckie Jacobs said the shop will feature a special breakfast menu that day, which will include:
- Waffle sundaes with maple pecan ice cream, maple syrup and crispy bacon;
- Krispy Kreme ice cream sandwiches;
- Oatmeal a la mode;
- French toast ice cream;
- and orange juice sorbet.
Plus, if you come by in your pajamas, you'll get a free Serendipity mug (while supplies last) filled with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. And yes, actual jammies are required. The old "I sleep in my clothes" excuse won't work even if you actually do.
The event will also feature contests for best jammies, sexiest jammies (for men and women 18 or older), best jammie family and cutest slippers. Prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m.
Webster Groves Patch was unable to find any official information on National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. However, we did find one website that stated the day was invented by a New York family days of winter for their children.
