July 2: Webster Groves Community Days Schedule of Events

Here's what you can look forward to on Monday, July 2, which is the second day of the four-day celebration.

 

MONDAY, JULY 2 

  • Family Day (5 - 11 p.m.) Lions Club Carnival, Midway Booths and barbecue at Memorial Park. There will be a carnival ride "wrist-band" discount all evening, which offers unlimited rides for $25!  
  • Children's Pet Parade (6 - 7 p.m.) The parade will be held at the Recreation Complex Gymnasium (Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.) Bring out the dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, iguanas or whatever, If it's your pet, it qualifies for the Children’s Pet Parade! (Only wild animals are excluded.)  This event is a long-standing tradition in the Webster Groves community and is open to children 15 years old or younger. It is designed as a good-natured competition where pets, with some assistance from their owners, compete in a variety of categories. Participants may enter a maximum of three categories. Certificates are given to all entrants. Ribbons and prizes will also be awarded to first, second and third places in the following categories: Best Trick, Funniest Looking, Best Costume, Pet/Owner Look-Alike, Best Pet Joke (available to kids with or without a pet) and Best Float. Blue Ribbon Grooming provides the prizes and judging positions for this ever-popular event.
  • Entertainment by Rock This Boat (7 - 11 p.m.) Entertainment by Rock This Boat will be held at the Action Park. It’s Island Party Music mon! Rock This Boat is a 6-piece rock n’ roll band, specializing in TropRock music, best defined as Jimmy Buffett-style concert fun. Put on your Parrothead apparel and join Gio Laurenti (lead guitar and vocals,) Scott Cagle (bass, harmonica and vocals,) Randy Maier (keyboards and vocals,) Libby White (percussion and vocals,) Dean Duhart (lead vocals and guitar) and Jim Barks (drums) as they transport you to the Caribbean. 
  • Superhero Pool Party (8:15 - 10 p.m.) The Superhero Pool Party will be held at the Aquatic Center. A Superhero Pool Party will be offered by the Webster Groves Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with Community Days. The cost is $5 per person. Come and show your super powers off and dress in your best Superhero costume. Enjoy the games, prizes, contests, photos, snacks and fun!
