Last Chance: Benefit Jazz Concert in Webster Groves Sunday

Our "Last Chance" feature lets you know about important upcoming deadlines.

On Sunday, April 22, the nationally acclaimed jazz group The Oîkos Ensemble, led by Cleveland saxophonist Clifford Aerie, will perform a benefit concert at the First Congregational Church of Webster Groves.

The concert, which begins at 3 p.m., will raise money for the Sunshine Cultural Arts Center in East St. Louis. Tickets are $20. The Sunshine Cultural Arts Center will be the name of a building acquired by the Community Performance Ensemble of East St. Louis, a music and dance group for children of disadvantaged income.

According to a press release by the Performance Ensemble, “Not only will the center provide a home for the organization’s existing cultural arts programming, it will provide tremendous opportunities for growth in capacity and vision. With community support, the center will open for inaugural programming this summer. We take pleasure in asking you to help support this audacious dream.”

For more information or to purchase tickets, check out this event in our events calendar.
