Nerinx Hall President to Be Recognized in Special Ceremony
Sister Barbara Roche will be honored Friday in celebration of her 25 years of service at the high school.
Sister Barbara Roche, who is celebrating 25 years as president of Nerinx Hall High School, will be honored at a special ceremony on Friday.
Mayor Gerry Welch will present Roche with an honor proclaiming Dec. 2 as Sister Barbara Roche Day in Webster Groves. The city will also post the announcement on the sign at City Hall over the weekend.
Lockwood Avenue is where Roche spent her much of educational life between Mary Queen of Peace, Nerinx Hall and Webster College, which became Webster University in 1983. It came full circle when she returned to Nerinx as president 25 years ago.
"The school is fortunate to have someone of her caliber, who has made a commitment to her job that goes well beyond the job description she was given," Nerinx Director of Advancement Pauletta Reed said in a statement.
The special ceremony, which begins at 6:30 p.m., will be held in Nerinx's Heagney Theatre. Webster Groves Patch will have more on Roche's 25 years as president and her vision for Nerinx's future next week.
