The Block Restaurant Opens for Lunch
Owner Marc Del Pietro says the restaurant will feature a scaled down version of its dinner menu for lunch.
The Block, a restaurant and butcher shop located in Old Webster Groves, will begin serving lunch on April 16, according to an article by the River Front Times.
In February, The Block won Patch’s Food Fight contest for the restaurant with the best steak in Mid-County.
The Block, which opened last summer, is owned by the Del Pietro family, the same group that owns Luciano's Trattoria in Clayton. The Block features meat from local farmers, which is also cut fresh in the restaurant.
Owner Marc Del Pietro told the RFT the restaurant will feature a “scaled-down” version of their dinner menu, which currently offers salads, appetizers seafood, sandwiches, fish, hamburgers and, of course, steak, pork chops and other meat classics.
Last year, Patch published a review of the restaurant. In his review, Patch contributor Christopher Reilly said The Block’s “grass-fed beef was flavorful and blended harmoniously with the smoked cheddar that came on it. Cooked a perfect medium rare, the burger took its place in my burger hall of fame.”
The Block is located at 146 W. Lockwood Ave. in Webster Groves. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Starting on April 16, The Block will also open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
