Webster Groves Restaurant to Be Featured on 'The Food Network'
Highway 61 Roadhouse & Kitchen has been chosen to air later this year on the top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri.
Congratulations to Highway 61 Roadhouse & Kitchen, which will be featured later this year on The Food Network's top-rated show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, hosted by Guy Fieri.
Fieri and his team recently visited the Webster Groves bar and grill to tape a segment that will run in October or November, said Bill Kunz, the restaurant's owner. The eatery is a New Orleans-style Cajun bar and full-service restaurant, which features live bands.
"The show's producers had called Tom Coghill from Iron Barley in Carondelet, which was featured on the show in 2008 and said 'We haven't been to St. Louis in four years. Can you recommend a spot in St. Louis we could feature?'" Kunz said. "Tom recommended us."

Kunz, who admitted to Patch he had never seen the show, went through several rounds of nerve-wrecking interviews with the show's producers and a tedious amount of paperwork.
"After that, we were told we'd either receive an email or a phone call within a week," Kunz said. "Then we got the call that we were picked."
The restaurant had to close its doors during several hours over a three-day period for the filming process last month, Kunz said. Specific recipes for signature dishes were taped, as well as interviews.
"We're really excited about it," Kunz said. "People have told me in the past that I should apply for the show, which would bring in a huge increase in business."
Guy Fieri travels around the United States looking for the best diners, drive-in restaurants, and dive bars. The show began in 2008.
Webster Groves Patch will continue to follow this this story and will announce the specific date the show featuring the bar and grill will run.

Great to hear it for a local business. Kinda surprised, though. Have eaten there a couple times and thought it was just "ok." As a big New Orleans fan and frequent traveler there, the Hwy 61 food seems kind of routine. But, it's still nice to see St. Louis on this show!

Awesome news for Bill and his staff! As per the comment above, and how Roadhoue's style is described in the article, it was my understanding that the restaurant 'style' was a menu of foods you would find between here and New Orleans, rather than just New Orleans-style Cajun.
Bill's barbecue is awesome, the catfish is a family favorite, the sides are delicious, and one of the best brunches in town. Then throw in some live blues! Well-deserved honor for its food and uniqueness in the area.
Laissez le bon temps roulez, Roadhouse!
