Winners Announced for Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest

Eight students won a $100 U.S. savings bond for answering the question, "What would Dr. King have us do to keep his dream alive in our community?”

 

Congratulations to the eight students whose essays about Martin Luther King Jr. earned them a $100 U.S. savings bond.

The contest, sponsored by Webster-Rock Hill Ministries and several area churches, asked students to answer, “What would Dr. King have us do to keep his dream alive in our community?”

The winning students were: Lillian Forsyth in kindergarten, Scott Buchanan in second grade, Kelly McClure in fourth grade, Serena Lewis in fifth grade, Jack Snelling in sixth grade, Sydney Cimarolli in sixth grade, Phoebe Sklansky in sixth grade and Bobby Varghese in twelfth grade.

The students were honored at a ceremony Jan. 15 at Steger Sixth Grade Center.
