Dinner Bell Rings at the Webster Groves Farmers Market

I know you're planning to visit the Webster Groves Farmers Market to buy ingredients for your at-home meals this week, but why not consider dining with us too?

Thursday, we're pleased to welcome The Summer Truck to the Market. They join The Big Cheese and El Chico Bakery in offering prepared foods for your mealtime pleasure.

The Summer Truck's produce comes from their own farm in Moscow Mills. They offer an ever-changing menu created from scratch, including salads, sandwiches and desserts. Their menu is driven by what is fresh and available each week.

Examples include a Summer Sandwich with goat cheese, roasted veggies and pesto. Other entrees are Lemon Basil Chicken Skewers, a BLT, St. Louis-Style Ribs and Pork Sausage Sliders.

Main dishes are accompanied by Vegetable Slaw (with Green Goddess dressing and seasonal veggies) or Potato Salad (dressed with Dijon honey mustard). Their summer drink is refreshing Blueberry Lemonade.

El Chico will be back with their popular home-made tamales, and The Big Cheese will be serving up made-to-order grilled sandwiches.

Beyond the meals, we'll have plenty of peaches, melons and tomatoes this week as well as other summer produce.

Come see us at S. Old Orchard and Big Bend from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Update to the blog: Unfortunately El Chico will not have the tasty tamales at today's Market. But, you can pick them up from the bakery on Cherokee Street this weekend or call ahead to special order them. --Angela
