Arts in Motion is a unique environment where dance technique, artistry, and community come together. We work tirelessly to create a safe, genuinely supportive, and highly creative atmosphere where students of all ages and skill levels can discover or re-discover dance as a positive force. Our school will always encourage students to free themselves of inhibition, learn more about themselves and others, and fully experience the art of dance.

We offer a wide curriculum of movement and technique classes including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and pointe to suit students of any experience level. Classes at Arts in Motion are joyful, potent, diverse, and reflect each teacher's passion for movement, education, and individual artistic background.

Arts in Motion faculty members are highly experienced and specifically suited and educated for the classes they teach. Our programs are designed for students who wish to fully experience movement and the art of dance.

All of our classes utilize only age-appropriate movement and music.  Professional teachers who are also professional dancers provide potent instruction, adult leadership, and a foundation for all movement.  Emphasis is on ballet and modern dance principles, which provide a valuable foundation for all movement and, when combined, offer the greatest opportunity for expression, creativity, and development.

Classes for ages 2-7 utilize the Magnificent Moving Kidz™ program, originally developed for Arts in Motion by a licensed certified teacher. This amazing program uses principles of education and dance, combined with children's natural development patterns, to create an unforgettable and exciting movement class for children. We are the only studio in the St. Louis area to be licensed this program and train our instructors in the Magnificent Movement™ method. The core ballet and modern curriculum is ever present, and even our youngest children receive training in modern dance (although they may not realize it!)

Strong programs for older children and teens utilize the solid foundation established in the preschool and school-aged classes and challenge the students with more complex skills, concepts, and combinations, expanding their creativity, individuality, body awareness, stamina, and strength. Emphasis remains on ballet and modern dance forms, although jazz, tap, pointe, and other forms are available.

There are no recitals, no competitions, and no little ones in makeup, but a Final Class Showing on stage, in dance uniforms, which demonstrates accomplishments.  Increased optional performance opportunities in our AiMDance Ensemble Program become available as the students reach age 6 and develop an interest in taking more classes, learning choreography, and performing.
