Webster University Presents Chamber Music for Voice, Strings, Flute and Piano
Community Music School of Webster University, 535 Garden Ave, Webster Groves, MO | Get Directions »
$5.00
What better way to open a Webster University concert in the middle of winter than to focus on the fragrant and graceful flower “Winter Jasmine.” This lovely simple piece written by Gary Schocker for flute and piano, and performed by flutist Paula Kasica, will warm your heart and pave the way for the rest of the concert. Vocal pieces by Frank Martin, Jean Berger and Frank Bridge, featuring Martha J. Hart, mezzo-soprano, will tell stories of love, passion, destinies and dreams. Music by cellist Ken Kulosa, violist Anna Lachschewitz and pianist Nacy Mayo complement the program. Experience the passion of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos with his “Assobio a Jato” (The Jet Whistle) for flute and cello, and round out the evening with the “Trio for Flute, Viola, and Cello” by Roussel. Don’t miss this delightful evening on stage.
