The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for May 16-22.
The Senior PGA golf tournament comes to St. Louis and it will include road closures beginning next week. Route AB (Ladue Road) will be closed between Route 141 and Mason Road from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from Tuesday, May 21 through Sunday, May 26. Mason Road will also be closed during these same hours and days from West Wailing to Ladue Road. The Missouri Department of Transportation will have lane closures on a few interstates this weekend. Two lanes will be closed on southbound I-170 at Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) at 9 p.m. Friday, May 17 to perform preventative maintenance on the I-170 bridge over Route 180. About 70 area residents gathered Wednesday at the Shrewsbury City Center to learn about the South County Connector, a proposed 4-lane road through Shrewsbury and Webster Groves as it connects Hanley Road in Maplewood and the River Des Peres Parkway. Trailnet, the group known for promoting bicyling and hiking in St. Louis, hosted the meeting. The group's Marielle Brown said the 4-lane road would be from 1.5 to 2 miles long. At intersections it would be up to seven lanes wide. It would be elevated through several points, with a full interchange at Interstate 44. A 75-day public comment period on the project’s draft Environmental Impact Study (EIS) began in early May. The design phase would begin if the county approves the EIS. Shrewsbury …

Missouri Department of Transportatation's maintenance crews are continuing to work daily on touching up striping on state roads around the region. Drivers should be aware of slow moving maintenance operations on roadways as crews continue to work on putting on a new coat of paint. When drivers see a MoDOT vehicle with flashing lights, they should remember to slow down or move over to avoid the work ahead. Often three or more maintenance vehicles will be spaced out over some distance to complete maintenance work. In St. Louis County, blasting operations on southbound Interstate 270 near Big Bend is scheduled weekdays at 1 p.m., and will continue weekly, weather permitting. MoDOT's bridge maintenance crews will be closing the exit ramp from westbound Interstate 64 to Long Road beginning April 29 at 9 a.m. This ramp goes over I-64 as part of the exit ramp. It will be closed for approximately two weeks. To detour around this closure, motorists traveling on westbound I-64 can exit at Spirit Boulevard and take Chesterfield Airport Road to Long Road. The entrance ramp from Long Road to eastbound I-64 will remain open while the bridge work is being completed on the westbound exit ramp. Blasting operations on southbound I-270 near Big Bend is scheduled weekdays at 1 p.m., weather permitting. The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the ramp from Pine Street to westbound Interstate 64 at 9 a.m., Thursday as part of the Jefferson Avenue bridge closure. The Jefferson Avenue bridge over I-64 will close on Friday morning at 1 a.m., for approximately three months. Motorists can use Compton Avenue, 18th Street and 14th Street to detour around the closure. MoDOT will close all lanes on I-64 in both directions between Hampton and Jefferson this weekend starting at 8 p.m., Friday. Entrance ramps to eastbound I-64 will be closed from McCausland to Ewing avenues. In addition, entrance ramps to westbound I-64 will be closed from Broadway to Grand avenues.
