St. Louis County police have released photos of four individuals they suspect of robbing a victim at gunpoint at the Mackenzie Pointe parking lot and on Friday morning at the on Lemay Ferry Road.
One suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with short hair and eyeglasses. The other three are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s. The men also are suspected in connection with robberies in North County and Crestwood, police said.
The suspects have been seen driving a dark green, early 2000 four-door Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof and spoiler.
The Mackenzie Pointe victim had just exited her automobile when the Impala, drove up next to her, Shrewsbury police said. The suspect in the passenger seat displayed what appeared to be a dark colored semi-automatic pistol and demanded the victim’s purse. The suspects then fled the area after taking the purse. No one was injured.
Similarly County police said the 37-year-old woman robbed at Kmart was retrieving something from the backseat of her car when the suspects stole her purse and displayed a semi-automatic handgun.
The vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident was spotted by a Shrewsbury police officer in the area of Big Bend and Murdoch Avenues shortly after the robbery. However, the suspects were able to elude the officer when he attempted to stop vehicle. The officer was able to obtain a license plate, Missouri state license WG2-N3N, which is reportedly a stolen license plate from another jurisdiction.
