My daughter Julia came to live with me a year ago for school. It isn't easy for me to raise someone who is practically my 9-year-old clone, but that is exactly what I find I am doing with Julia. Through our judo and soccer practices, reading, writing and arithmetic, Girl Scouts, and Japanese language classes, we occasionally have a conversation that connects us both in a sometimes deep and usually humorous way. Hopefully, you will be as entertained as we are.
The Worst Thing about a New Hat
It was an uneventful last week, so this story comes from last year after Julia got a new hat, which she thought of as being a cowboy hat but was not...
What's the worse thing about a new hat:
1) She insists on wearing it to school with permed hair,
2) She thinks it's a cowboy hat and wants you to buy her a sheriff badge, or
3) She has started to constantly refer to you by your full name? "Shawn Greene, I want only one egg this morning."
