Cafe Nura to Change Name, Serve Wine and Beer
Rimla Javed, owner of the coffee house on Lockwood, says she is making the changes to appeal to her customers.
Rimla Javed, known by her customers as “Remy,” says she’s had a great year and a half since she opened her coffee shop, Cafe Nura, in November of 2010 in Webster Groves. Javed, however, said some customers still have a hard time pronouncing the store’s name. “So we are going to call it Abode Coffee House,” Javed said. “Over the year and a half that I’ve been here I felt that this coffee shop always felt like home away from home and a lot of people had a hard time saying 'Nura,' so I thought the name change was appropriate.” Javed said the name has been officially changed, but a new sign is still on the works.
