Intruders Assaulted Webster Groves Man, Broke TV and Stole Xbox, Police Say

Webster Groves Police said Kyle Connors and two others questioned the man about the whereabouts of a mutual acquaintance.

Three men forced their way into an apartment early in the morning May 10, assaulted a Webster Groves resident and stole his Xbox game system, police said. Kyle Connors, 23, of the 500 block of North and South Road in University City, was charged May 15 with first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery and second-degree property damage. Webster Groves Police said that Connors and two other men pounded loudly on an apartment door in the 700 block of Chamberlain Place at about 2:25 a.m. May 10. When the resident cracked the door to see who it was, the men forced their way into the apartment, police said. Felon in Webster Groves Burglary Now Charged in Kirkwood Car Break-Ins

Anthony M. Johnson, 18, previously pleaded guilty to a Webster Groves burglary and was charged in January with child endangerment.

A man faces eight stealing charges in Kirkwood a couple of months after pleading guilty to burglary in Webster Groves and other theft charges. Anthony Michael Johnson, 18, of the 400 block of South Holmes in Kirkwood, was charged April 25 with three counts of felony stealing, four counts of stealing a credit card and one count of stealing a car. Previously, Johnson pleaded guilty Feb. 14 to a burglary in the first block of Reasnor Avenue in Webster Groves, along with two counts of stealing a firearm and felony stealing. Johnson admitted stealing an AR-15 assault rifle and a semi-automatic handgun, a laptop computer and a safe. Cars Damaged, Thefts Investigated by Webster Pollce

Plus, Webster Groves police have a description of two young males they'd like to talk to in connection to recent property damage.

In Des Peres last week, a handful of cars and homes were burglarized in a residential neighborhood—a serious enough "spree" that the city blasted an email and text alert to the neighborhoods. As it happens, the burglar got into some unlocked cars, used the garage door opener and walked into a pair of houses in which the inside door was not locked. The report brought on this comment from a reader: "A person would not lock their car outside overnight (or anytime) because? And with a home garage door opener and valuables inside? Is this laziness or stupidity?" Agreed. Just because a thief or vandal else clearly does wrong, does not mean the victim is necessarily "right" or blameless. It also doesn't mean they have equal blame or most of it. Such black and white thinking on this board. Sometimes victims couldn't have done anything better. Sometimes we can all learn something from the situation...like locking things up and keeping valuables out of sight.   more ›

Home Burglaries, Attempted Break-In Investigated by Police

Webster Groves police are investigating after a number of similar home burglaries in the area.

It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. April 25: A burglary was reported in the 500 block of Bell Avenue. The incident occurred between 7 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Jewelry, 2 Wii controllers and a Wii battery pack were stolen. April 24: A resident in the 700 block of S. Laclede Station Road reported jewelry missing from their residence. The incident occurred between 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. that same day. Theft Tops Recent Webster Groves Crimes

Webster Groves police report recent thefts from cars, a storage unit and a business.

March 8 - March 10: Between 5:00 p.m. March 8 and 7:45 p.m March 10, someone broke into a locked storage unit in the first block of Jefferson Avenue. A set of golf clubs and several cases of golf balls were stolen. Police do have a person of interest in this case. March 12:  At 11:59 p.m., two people reportedly stole merchandise from a store in the 8000 block of Big Bend. Webster Groves police are investigating recent thefts, including jewelry stolen from a home and a computer stolen from an unlocked car.

Feb. 17: Police are investigating after a resident in the 100 block of West Glendale reported his former roommate took a laptop computer when he moved out.  Dec. 2012 - Feb. 18:  A home owner in the 300 block of Tuxedo Boulevard discovered cash and jewelry went missing from the residence, but is unsure of the exact date it disappeared. Theft Tops Recent Webster Groves Crimes

Police said in one instance, jewelry was stolen from a home while the residents were away on vacation.

The following information was supplied by the Webster Groves Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. Feb. 11: Between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., several items were stolen from a home in the first block of Webster Acres. Police said a north facing kitchen window of the home was broken and that's how entry was gained. Feb. 8 - Feb. 10: Several pieces of jewelry were stolen from a home in the 400 block of South Park. Police said the residents were on vacation at the time of the theft. Police are investigating and have identified a person of interest. Police: Officers Find Webster Groves Man Loading Stolen Compressor Onto Truck

The man was parked outside a Bridgeton hotel that is closed for renovation.

Bridgeton police officers found a Webster Groves man loading an air compressor onto his truck Jan. 22 outside a hotel on Lindbergh Boulevard that was closed for renovation. Jacob A. Dawson, 29, of the 100 block of St. John Avenue in Webster Groves, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. Bridgeton Police said the man was loading the air compressor, valued at about $2,500, onto his truck at about 1:45 p.m. Jan. 22 outside the building at 4545 Lindbergh Blvd. The owner told police he removed the air compressor from the closed hotel building. Man Breaks Into Airport Bar, Leaves Alcohol-Soaked Underwear

The man broke into the Pasta House restaurant at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and raided the bar.

A man was arrested by Lambert-St. Louis International Airport security agents after he broke into a closed Pasta House restaurant, leaving his cell phone and alcohol-soaked underwear behind. David M. LaPrade, 24 of Southampton, MA, was charged with second-degree burglary and property damage. (Get instant news updates. Like Hazelwood Patch on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.)
