Commerce Bank Re-Issues Cards Throughout Schnucks Territory

The cost to the bank has been "significant," an executive said. The news comes after thousands of Schnucks customers had their credit and debit cards compromised due to a security breach.

Customers of Commerce Bank should keep an eye on the mail. You're likely getting new debit cards, even if you didn't ask for one. Clayton-based Commerce Bancshares confirms that customers throughout the region are getting new cards as a precaution following a security breach at Schnucks grocery stores around the area that compromised customer financial data. Carl Bradbury, Commerce's Director of Consumer Products, wouldn't identify Schnucks by name in an interview Thursday but did acknowledge "a large event" where cards were considered compromised, prompting the move. Man Charged With Commerce Bank Holdup in Webster Groves

Webster Groves Police said the man handed the teller a note demanding cash and indicating that he had a gun and would shoot.

An Illinois man is accused of holding up a Webster Groves bank Jan. 18. Keith Dunlap, of Trenton, IL, was charged Tuesday with robbing the Commerce Bank branch in Webster Groves, 8050 Big Bend Blvd., at about 4:12 p.m. Jan. 18. Webster Groves Police said Dunlap went into the bank and gave the teller a note announcing the holdup. The note indicated that Dunlap had a gun and would shoot, police said. The teller handed over $2,964 in cash, and Dunlap left the building, according to court documents. Dunlap is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $75,000. Webster Groves Police Seek Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

The robbery occurred at the Commerce Bank at 8050 Big Bend Blvd. around 4:15 p.m. Friday.

The Webster Groves Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Commerce Bank at 8050 Big Bend Blvd. late Friday afternoon.  About 4:15 p.m., a man approached a teller and displayed a note demanding money, police say. A weapon was implied, but not shown. He was last seen fleeing north on Big Bend with an unknown amount of cash. The suspect is described as a 40- to 50-year-old black man, police say. He was wearing a tan coat and a plaid shirt. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Webster Groves Police Department at 314-645-3000
