Earth Day Festival, Carnival and a Play for Foodies

Spring is here with fresh happenings around town. Come on out!

1. THURTENE CARNIVAL Where/When: Washington University, Skinker Blvd. and Forest Park Parkway; 4-8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Why Go: Fun times! It's the largest and oldest student-run carnival in the United States. Highlights are the amusement rides, food and student performances. Pricing: Free admission 2. REPEAL OF PROHIBITION BEER FESTIVAL Where/When: Schlafly Bottleworks, 7260 Southwest Ave., Maplewood; noon-5 p.m. Saturday. Why Go: Celebrate the anniversary of the end of prohibition. A sampling of more than 30 beer styles will be featured with musical entertainment by Swing DeVille. Pricing: $25 in advance, $30 day of event 3.
