Webster Groves High Teen Wins Scholarship in Talent Competition

Rapper Wes Ragland won the “I Award” for the most imaginative, inspired, inspiring and inventive act at the St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition.

Congratulations to Wes Ragland, a.k.a. rapper and performer Casper Ghost, for winning a $1,000 scholarship this weekend at the second annual Teen Talent Showcase Competition. Wes is a freshman at Webster Groves High School. He earned the “I Award” for having the “most imaginative, inspired, inspiring and inventive act,” according to the competition website. At the competition, Wes performed “No Incident,” an original song about two teens who take extreme measures after being bullied. “I was really angry, and I just started thinking, as kids in America, as we are growing up, we are taught about bullying,” Wes told Webster Groves Patch before the competition. “I decided to apply what I was feeling and what I’ve been taught and just kind of …

Two Webster Groves High School Seniors Receive Top Honors

Brianna Hickey and Abigail Moore have been recognized in a statewide scholarship program that honors 100 of Missouri’s top students in this year’s graduating class.

Two seniors at Webster Groves High School have received scholarships as part of a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri’s top students in this year’s graduating class. Brianna Hickey and Abigail Moore have each been honored with the Missouri Scholars 100 Award, which is sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. The students were selected based on a formula that includes academic strength, excellent attendance and good citizenship. This infomation was provided by the Webster Groves School District.
