Webster Groves Police said Zachary Cain's blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.
A Ballwin man faces a third alcohol-related driving offense after Webster Groves Police pulled him over on Interstate 44. Zachary Eli Cain, 23, of the 700 block of Reinke Road in Ballwin, was charged April 25 with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender, a class D felony. Webster Groves Police said an officer pulled Cain over after seeing him speeding and passing each vehicle on I-44 at about 10:27 a.m. Sept. 16, eventually striking another vehicle. The officer said noticed a strong odor of alcohol on Cain, and saw he had bloodshot and watery eyes. Webster Groves police want to hear from you if people come to your door asking for information.
Webster Groves police say they want to hear from residents who experience what a Patch reader tipped us off to Wednesday. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) A woman told us that on Tuesday night, two men who said they worked for AT&T came to her door at 9 p.m. and were asking questions about her husband, when he would return and that they knew what kind of car he drove. After she got the men to leave, the woman called police, who she said told her they had received a second call along the same lines. An AT&T spokesperson told Patch that the company does have people canvassing the Webster Groves area selling U-verse television service. Webster Groves Police said the Lonzo Stewart was driving under the influence of PCP when he struck the center median, went across all lanes and hit a guardrail.
A St. Louis man faces an assault charge after a passenger in his car was injured in an accident on Interstate 44 near South Elm Avenue in Webster Groves. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Lonzo Stewart, 51, was charged April 1 with second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated. Webster Groves Police said Stewart was driving July 19 under the influence of phencyclidine, also known as PCP. According to a court document, Stewart’s car struck the center median on I-44, swerved across all lanes of traffic and hit a guardrail. Webster Groves Police investigators said the man committed the crime as part of a ritual occurrence.
*The following information was supplied by court documents. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. A man has been charged with molesting a girl in Webster Groves. Ozee McCollum, 41, of the 2300 block of Menard Street in St. Louis, was charged Tuesday with first-degree child molestation. Webster Groves Police reported that between August 2005 and August 2008, McCollum would watch the girl shower and then rub his genitals against the girl while she was in bed. A Webster University student reported being sexually assaulted February 5 on Edgar Road.
A Webster Groves Police investigation into a reported sexual assault earlier this month continues, but a department spokesperson tells Patch police are having a "hard time developing leads" from the February 5 assault. A Webster University student reported walking northbound on Edgar Road at 11:30 p.m when he said he was pulled under the Highway 44 overpass and assaulted by a white male suspect between the ages of 30 and 40, with average height and weight. While police say the victim is being helpful, he's unable to provide more information on a description. Anyone with information should contact Webster Groves Police at (314) 645-3000.

Webster Groves police report thefts of a purse, CD player and alcohol in this most recent edition of police blotter.
The following information was supplied by the Webster Groves Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. Jan. 30 - 31: Police report a CD player was stolen from a parked car in the 800 block of Holland Avenue sometime between the evening of Jan. 30 and the morning of Jan. 31. Jan. 31: A purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of North Bompart Avenue between 2:55 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. Feb. 2: At 12:05 a.m., a 31-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting two bottles of liquor from Schnucks located at 8650 Big Bend. Webster Groves Police said the man handed the teller a note demanding cash and indicating that he had a gun and would shoot.
An Illinois man is accused of holding up a Webster Groves bank Jan. 18. Keith Dunlap, of Trenton, IL, was charged Tuesday with robbing the Commerce Bank branch in Webster Groves, 8050 Big Bend Blvd., at about 4:12 p.m. Jan. 18. Webster Groves Police said Dunlap went into the bank and gave the teller a note announcing the holdup. The note indicated that Dunlap had a gun and would shoot, police said. The teller handed over $2,964 in cash, and Dunlap left the building, according to court documents. Dunlap is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $75,000. What's frustrating is that the last time I saw these type of people, they were NOT actually AT&T employees. They are parties of a third-party firm that tries to make a sale on behalf of AT&T. Their IDs are different than those worn by AT&T employees and they were not registered as salespeople with Shrewsbury, and ignored "No soliciting" signs.
