Carlos Restrepo is a global journalism major at Webster University. Restrepo got involved in journalism in Marquette High School's monthly publication, The Messenger, where he was staff writer and later news editor.
He graduated early from Marquette, and in the fall of 2008 he was hired as assistant art & life editor for The Montage at St. Louis Community College—Meramec. The following semester he was named editor in chief, leading the paper to win the national Pacemaker Award. On the side, he has worked as editor of El Mundo Latino, a bi-weekly Spanish publication of the St. Louis area, interned with the globe-democrat.com and was named Journalist of the Year by the Missouri College Media Association in 2009. Last year he was news editor of Webster University's newspaper, The Journal.
Restrepo is a native of Medellin, Colombia.
